“Mühendis Kafası” (The Engineer’s Mind), a series of talks being organized by the IEEE Bilkent Student Branch and TTGV (Türkiye Teknoloji Geliştirme Vakfı), made its debut on November 10, hosting Prof. Aytül Erçil at its first session.
The topic of the session was “Computer Vision,” an interdisciplinary field that from the engineering perspective seeks to automate tasks that the human visual system can do. Prof. Erçil provided general technical information about the subject and shared her experiences from her work on the startups Vistek and Vispera.
The talk, geared primarily to beginners in the field and technology fans interested in computer vision, also included a question-and-answer session that allowed audience members to gain more information concerning specific aspects of the topic. The event concluded with a reception.
