The Nevruz holiday occurred last week, and the Bilkent campus was the scene for celebrations marking the occasion. On Friday, March 20, Türk Dünyası Araştırmaları Topluluğu, Milliyetçi Düşünce Topluluğu and Türkçe Topluluğu organized holiday activities on the Main Campus grass field, where a fire burned throughout the day.
In the evening, Genç Aydınlanma Kulübü held a celebration at the Dormitories grass field beginning at 5 p.m.
Both programs included special performances, including folk dances from all over Turkey and Central Asia. There were also food offerings, the opportunity to ride a horse or use a traditional Turkish bow and arrow, and several traditional competitions.
