On Thursday, April 11, the Library Art Gallery hosted the opening reception of a new exhibition of ceramics and paintings by Kim Yong Moon.
A native of South Korea, Mr. Moon graduated from Hongik University in Seoul. He spearheaded the organization of symposiums focused on macsabal, a ceramic art technique originating in Korea that involves the use of a special wood-fired kiln. Thirty such symposiums have taken place in Korea, China and Turkey; Mr. Moon has also had a number of solo exhibitions in those countries.
He is the director of the Macsabal Museum Studio in Wanju, Korea, and the Macsabal Studio in Ankara.
His exhibit at Bilkent will run through May 7 and will be open every day (except Sundays) from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
