With the arrival of the new semester, Radio Bilkent has revamped its program schedule to offer even more to listeners. “Even though we were already featuring a variety of unique programs,” says the Radio Bilkent staff, “you won’t be able to keep yourself from listening to these newbies!”
Here is Radio Bilkent’s schedule, with the station’s description of its current programming, and the new programs indicated:
Early Grey (morning show)
“Early Grey” focuses on a variety of topics, such as health, astrology, magazines, psychology and relationships. If you want to be up-to-date, all you have to do is listen to Radio Bilkent every Monday from 8 to 10 a.m.
Crossroads (jazz and blues)
“Crossroads” is a program specially designed for those who just can’t give up good old jazz. It airs from 7 to 9 p.m. every Monday. If you’re a jazz lover, don’t miss it!
Goose Bumps (new!)
Do you like being scared? Then listen to one of Radio Bilkent’s newest programs! It’s all about mysteries, legends and all kinds of horrors. You can even call in to tell about your paranormal experiences. If you want to be scared, tune in every Monday from 9 to 11 p.m.
ChitChat (new!)
If you can’t stop talking for even a minute, then this is your type of program. “ChitChat,” Radio Bilkent’s only talk show, airs every Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Swang (hip hop)
So many of the songs that top the charts these days have one thing in common: their genre, hip hop. In this program, you’ll hear a mash-up of “old school” and “new school” tracks. If you want to be part of it all, “Swang” airs from 9 to 11 p.m. every Tuesday. Don’t wait any longer to start listening!
Not What You Expect (discovery)
If you’re someone who loves new discoveries, this broadcast might be just the thing for you. “Not What You Expect” airs every Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Be open to new music and listen; the tracks you hear on this program could become your new favorites!
Premiere (discovery)
If you want to become a more sophisticated listener by tuning in to a program that offers more information than the standard radio broadcast, this is the show for you. Every week you’ll learn more about the artists behind the music. You can be enlightened every Wednesday from 9 to 11 p.m.
Basement Party (new!)
Basement Party presents a variety of genres, from electronic to reggae. If you’re into that kind of scene, “Basement Party” awaits you every Wednesday from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Roots (rock)
Rock is one of music’s most remarkable genres. “Roots” wants all you rock ’n’ rollers to listen to 96.6 – let’s meet every Thursday from 9 to 11 p.m.!
Classical Music
If you want to just sit back and relax, these soothing classical pieces might help you do that. Every Saturday from 8 to 10 a.m. and every Sunday from 8 a.m. to 12 noon, you can hear the best classical music by tuning in to 96.6 or going to radyobilkent.com.
Demarkaj
“Demarkaj,” moderated by members of the station’s news unit, deals with topical issues. If you want to follow this culture–art–life program, tune in every Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m.!
Technoise (new!)
Electronic music is one of the most influential genres in music today. If you’re an EDM listener, we’re waiting for you every Saturday and Sunday from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.!
