A solar palm was placed in front of the Faculty of Art, Design, and Architecture on Main Campus. Donated to Bilkent University by 2013 IAED graduate Kübra Kalyoncu Şeherli, the Solar Palm was designed by Kalyon PV R&D Center.
The solar palm provides active energy throughout the day by utilizing the power of the sun. The solar palm, which has 37 cells, 3.25 KWS of storage space and 13 hours of use, provides students with the pleasure of sitting on the bench and the convenience of charging up to 20 phones and computers for up to six hours.
The university will launch further projects in the near future to generate electricity for the campus through solar energy
