Restrictions on the use of cigarettes, electronic cigarettes and other tobacco products on the Bilkent University campus have been expanded. Smoking and no-smoking areas have been re-marked to indicate the new boundaries of those areas.
On the Main and Middle Campuses, the yellow lines indicating no-smoking areas have been extended considerably. Please pay close attention to the direction of the arrows on the yellow lines; the arrows point to the areas where smoking is prohibited.
On the East Campus, the use of cigarettes, electronic cigarettes and other tobacco products is now forbidden everywhere other than in specially designated smoking areas. Please note that here, some new smoking areas have been created, while some of the old smoking areas have become no-smoking areas.
The new boundaries became effective on August 19. Students, staff members, alumni, guests and all other persons who violate no-smoking rules will incur penalties and/or sanctions.
