Interview Adventure With Talent Hunters Begins

The Career and Alumni Office is inviting all third- and fourth-year students to participate in its Interview Adventure With Talent Hunters program for the fall semester. In the 2019–2020 academic year, 418 Bilkent students were paired with representatives of 32 companies from various sectors, giving them the opportunity to experience an online interview and take a first step toward life after graduation.

During this year’s program, students will have the chance to interview with talent hunters from companies that will include the Amadeus IT Group, Amgen Biotechnology, Arçelik, Armut.com, Arvento Mobile Systems, the B/S/H Group, Bilkent Holding, Deloitte, Eczacıbaşı Monrol, Eczacıbaşı Tüketim Ürünleri, Ezcacıbaşı Yapı Gereçleri, Eczacıbaşı VitrA, Esen Sistem Entegrasyon, Eti Gıda, Ford Otosan, Garanti BBVA, HSBC Bank, ING Bank, Itelligence, Logo Yazılım, Mavi Jeans, Milsoft, MSC Gemi Acenteciliği, Norm Holding, Renault Türkiye, SNI Technology, Vestel Elektronik and VL Media.

Students who want to participate will need to have visited the https://stars.bilkent.edu.tr/srs  Other Services/Interview Adventure with Talent Hunters (IATH) menu by September 30, uploaded a CV and made an appointment with the Career and Alumni Office.

After the completion of an initial interview with the Career and Alumni Office, students will be paired with company representatives for the company interview stage. These interviews with talent hunters will take place between November 16 and December 18, and will be set up by the companies as Skype, Zoom, Teams, Hangout or telephone meetings.

Students who complete all steps of the program will be issued an Interview Adventure certificate by the Career and Alumni Office.

EXHIBITIONS

The Department of Communication and Design website is hosting COMD Eye 2020, an exhibition of student works from the 2019–2020 academic year. It includes a selection of short films, music videos, documentaries, design works and many other projects produced during the previous two semesters. COMD Eye 2020 may be viewed at comd.bilkent.edu.tr/comdeye2020.

UNICEF Fair October 15-22

Each fall, UNICEF volunteers hold a fair on campus to benefit children in need. This year’s fair will take place October 15-22, in Building 49 in the Main Campus faculty housing area.

The doors will open at 12 noon on the 15th, and at 10 a.m. on the other three days. The fair will be open until 6 p.m. all four days.

Those who would like to contribute are invited to bring good-quality secondhand items (including books, clothing, kitchen utensils and other household goods).

Are you going to apply to an MS or PhD program soon? Do you need to include a statement of purpose (SoP) with your application? The Career Center and the Faculty Academic English program will be holding a Statement of Purpose Workshop on November 13 at 5:40 p.m. in C-Block Auditorium of the FEASS building.

During the workshop, you will learn how to write a more effective statement of purpose, and also how to tailor it to different audiences. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and get feedback on your SoP from FAE’s BilWrite instructors.

Photo Exhibition by Bilkent Grad

The photograph exhibition “Mavi Beyaz” (Blue White) by İlayda Çetin opened on October 5 at Kuğulu Art Gallery, in association with Ziraat Art.

Ms. Çetin is an Ankara native and ‘12 graduate of Bilkent’s Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design. She is currently enrolled at Hacettepe University as a PhD student in interior design as well as at Anadolu University as a photography student.

Her other exhibitions in Ankara this year have included “Merdiven” at the Rahmi M. Koç Museum, “Çizgiler Arasında” at Bilkent University and “Aynadan İçeri” at Aksel Art Gallery. This will be her fifth solo exhibition.

“Mavi Beyaz” will remain on display through October 23.
