Asst. Prof. Jason Hale, chair of the Department of Performing Arts, is directing the play “Toplu Hikayeler” for the Turkish State Theater. Performances are being staged at Şinasi Sahnesi in Ankara.
“Toplu Hikayeler,” a translation of the work “Collected Stories” by American playwright Donald Margulies, follows the transformation of a mentor–protégé relationship.
The cast of the two-character play consists of Bilkent Performing Arts graduates Sükun Işıtan (THEA ’93) and Elif Kaman (THEA ’17). The directing assistants for the play, Burçak Kaya (THEA’ 19) and Ege Tolga (THEA ’23), are also Bilkent graduates.
The production premiered on February 8, with additional performances to take place on February 26 and 27. The play will go on tour to Çanakkale and other cities in the future.
