Radio Bilkent Presents New Program Lineup

The student-run station Radio Bilkent has set itself a mission: to keep pace and compete with other local stations in Ankara by providing programming with a unique appeal to listeners. In pursuit of this goal, a new schedule of broadcasts is airing this semester.

It includes a variety of programs focused on different genres, from jazz to hip-hop, as well as some new “discovery” programs featuring music that may be new to listeners. The diversity of the Bilkent campus, home to students from many different backgrounds, serves as an opportunity for the station to offer its own special mix of programming.

Along with its usual broadcast menu of hit music, breaking news updates and the popular “Drive Time” talk show airing from 5 to 7 p.m. each weekday, Radio Bilkent is presenting the following new program schedule:

“Crossroads” (Jazz) – Mondays, 9–11 p.m.

“Swang” (Hip-Hop) – Tuesdays, 9–11 p.m.

“Not What You Expect” (Discovery Program) – Wednesdays, 7–9 p.m.

“Premiere ” (Discovery Program) – Wednesday, 9–11 p.m.

“Roots” (Rock) – Thursdays, 9–11 p.m.

“Technoise” (Electronic Music) – Fridays and Saturdays, 9 p.m.–1 a.m.

Classical Music – Saturdays, 8–10 a.m.; Sundays, 8 a.m.–12 noon

In addition, the station will continue to broadcast its familiar “Early Grey” morning program, on Wednesdays from 7 to 9 a.m., and “Demarkaj,” hosted by Radio Bilkent’s news crew, on Sundays from 2 to 4 p.m.  So, stay tuned.
