Last week, on November 18, Bilkent University and the Undersecretariat for Defense Industries (SSM) signed a cooperation protocol with Aselsan, FNSS, Havelsan, Meteksan, Roketsan, STM and TAI for a Researcher Training Program for the Defense Industry. At the signing ceremony, which took place in Mithat Çoruh Amphitheater, SSM Deputy Secretary Celal Sami Tüfekçi and senior executives of the participating companies spoke about the significance of the agreement.
Under this protocol, graduate students will have the opportunity to work at those companies at the same time as they are studying at Bilkent. Their thesis research will be configured in the form of projects compatible with the companies’ mid- and long-term research and development strategies and the priority areas defined by the Undersecretariat for Defense Industries.
