On October 18, Bilkent International House hosted a South Asian Cultural Festival in Mithat Çoruh amphitheater. Organized at the initiative of Suvas Jesrani, a third-year Management student from Pakistan, the festival showcased the cultures of Pakistan, India and Bangladesh.
The program consisted of traditional dances, a skit, songs and presentations about the cultures of each country as well as their relations with Turkey. Additionally, the embassies of Pakistan, India and Bangladesh provided souvenirs, posters and traditional clothing for display.
Along with members of the Bilkent community, attendees at the festival included students from METU, İpek University and Ankara University, as well as representatives from the embassies of Pakistan and India. At the end, the president and vice president of Bilkent International House, Lazifa Karimli and Mujtaba Nara, presented crystal plaques to the embassy representatives as a token of appreciation for their contributions.
