This past weekend, the Design and Architecture Society (DAS) brought together seven of Turkey’s most successful architects during TasarımBilkent V. The society celebrated the fifth year of the annual event with a party on Saturday night and a barbeque in the Spring Fest area on Sunday.
Architecture is a field whose study must constantly be supported by practice and carried on outside classrooms. The purpose of DAS is to bring students together with professionals who can provide them with expert knowledge and practice opportunities.
For this reason, there was a full house of students on hand to meet the architects Han Tümertekin, Can Çinici, Hakan Demirel, Aydan Volkan, Kerem Piker, Orhan Uludağ and Zeynep Akten. TasarımBilkent V attracted graphic designers, landscape architects, interior architects and civil engineers as well as architects.
The event was advertised at other schools for the first time this year. As a result, although Bilkent students were in the majority, attendees also included students from other schools in Ankara (Gazi, Çankaya, Atılım, TOBB, Hacettepe and METU) as well as those traveling in from Anadolu University in Eskişehir, Gediz University in İzmir, Abant İzzet Baykal University in Bolu and various universities in İstanbul.
