The 29th Bilkent EEE Graduate Research Conference, organized jointly by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) and the Bilkent IEEE Student Branch, took place on April 6. During this day-long event, Bilkent EEE students presented their state-of-the-art research projects through oral and poster presentations.
The conference, held in the lecture halls on the ground floor of the EE building, was co-chaired by Prof. Orhan Arıkan and Prof. Tolga Mete Duman of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. EEE graduate students Aras Yurtman, Merve Begüm Terzi and Ahmet Safa Öztürk, along with undergraduate students Mehmet Ali Karakamış, Doğa Gürgünoğlu and Hikmet Demir from the IEEE Bilkent Student Branch, took part in organizing the event.
This year’s schedule included 63 oral presentations, run in three parallel sessions throughout the day, where graduate students shared their research projects and results, and answered questions from the audience. There were in addition two poster sessions comprising a total of 45 poster presentations; the conference also featured poster/demo presentations by EEE undergraduate students.
The event concluded with a reception and award ceremony, at which the department gave out four “best oral presentation” and two “best poster” awards. The oral presentation awards went to Saeed Ahmed, Salman Ul Hassan Dar, Tolga Ergen and Kıvanç Güngör, while Lütfi Kerem Şenel and Bilal Taşdelen received the best poster awards.
