The 28th Bilkent IEEE Graduate Research Conference, organized jointly by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and the Bilkent IEEE Student Branch, took place on March 24.
The conference was held in the lecture halls on the ground floor of the EE building. During this day-long activity, Bilkent EEE students presented their state-of-the-art research projects through oral and poster presentations.
This year’s schedule included 66 oral presentations, run in three parallel sessions throughout the day. Graduate students shared their research projects and results, and answered questions from the audience. In addition to the oral sessions, there were two poster sessions with 62 poster presentations.
During the sessions, the audience had a chance to interact with the researchers and learn about the research being conducted in the Bilkent EEE department. This year’s conference also included poster/demo presentations by EEE undergraduate students.
The conference was chaired by Assoc. Prof. S. Serdar Kozat of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. EE graduate students Aras Yurtman and Mustafa Gül, along with undergraduate students Elif Aygün, Hasan Emre Erdemoğlu and Çağan Selim Çoban from the IEEE Bilkent Student Branch, took part in organizing the event.
The conference concluded with a reception and award ceremony, at which the department gave out four “best oral presentation” and two “best poster” awards. The oral presentation awards went to Kaan Gökçesu, Serkan Sarıtaş, Yavuz Muslu and Mert Kalfa, while Caner Asbaş and Soheil Taraghinia received the best poster awards.
