An exhibition of works by Asst. Prof. Marek Brzozowski of the Department of Graphic Design has opened at the Galeri Sanatyapım in downtown Ankara, and will run until March 20.
Mr. Brzozowski describes his paintings as showing creativity through unexciting situations, imaginary landscapes, unexplored characters or half-surrealistic visions of the world around him.
Born in Bydgoszcz, Poland, in 1952, Mr. Brzozowski studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, graduating in 1976 with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in graphic design. From 1978 to 1989 he lectured on graphic design and typography at the aforementioned academy.
Simultaneously, he worked as a freelance designer, illustrator, painter and art director. He participated in many solo and group exhibitions and received a number of awards in international competitions in poster design, cartoon art, illustration and corporate identity logo design.
Mr. Brzozowski has been teaching graphic design and illustration at Bilkent University since 1993. He also continues to paint and exhibit his works both locally and internationally.
