The student volunteer organization TDP (Toplumsal Duyarlılık Projeleri/Social Awareness Projects) held its opening meeting of the spring semester on February 9 and 10 via Zoom. At the meeting, TDP welcomed new members and introduced them to the group’s ongoing volunteer projects.
TDP has conducted community service activities for more than 20 years, in line with its motto, “What about being part of the solution, instead of the problem?”
The organization was founded after the Marmara earthquake in 1999, with the objective of providing help to victims of the quake. Later, TDP started its first ongoing project, the Voluntary Teaching Project (Gönüllü Eğitim Projesi), in order to help educate children from disadvantaged neighborhoods in Ankara.
Beyza Alkış (IE/IV) and Ali Aydın (CTIS/III), TDP’s general coordinators, note that the organization welcomes all who wish to volunteer.
