What do you like best about Turkey?

There are many beautiful cities to visit, especially seaside cities (the Karadeniz area).

Are there any similarities between Turkey and your home country?

I think the first thing that comes to mind is language. Some traditions are similar, too.

What will you miss most about Bilkent/Turkey?

I’ll miss being in a foreign country and speaking the language there fluently.

What’s your favorite place on campus, and why?

The lojman area near the Odeon. It’s very peaceful and silent. Especially in the summer, that area is beautiful.

What’s your favorite Turkish food and/or favorite part of Turkish culture?

The food is similar to Azerbaijani food in general, but a specific thing that I like from Turkish cuisine is definitely künefe.

Where do you expect to see yourself 10 years from now?

To be honest, like most students, I have no idea. I hope somewhere in Europe as a professor or an employee in a pharmaceutical company.

What’s the hardest challenge you’ve handled in Turkey?

I can’t think of any harder challenge than the Calculus 101/102 courses. I have good memories of Bilkent except for those courses.

What cities have you visited in Turkey, and which one is your favorite?

I’ve traveled to a lot of cities in Turkey. I think my favorite place is either Üzüngöl in Trabzon or Kapadokya.

Do you have any hidden talents?

I can’t think of anything except an advanced level of procrastination. I like playing the piano and guitar, and I paint sometimes, but I don’t do any of those things at a level that would be considered a talent.

What’s an interesting question or comment you hear frequently about Bilkent/Turkey?

“Is it true that everyone at Bilkent is rich?”

Describe yourself in three words.

Explorer, kind, shy.

If you could master any skill, which one would you choose, and why?

Musical skills, I think. Music is something I never get bored with and doesn’t involve humans. Playing an instrument, enjoying your own music, is one of the best ways to relax.
