What do you like best about Turkey?

I like the people best. They’re extremely welcoming, and their kindness is unparalleled.

Are there any similarities between Turkey and your home country?

Both have delectable cuisine, and both value hospitality, be it to friends or strangers.

What will you miss most about Bilkent/Turkey?

I’ll miss neglecting sleep to go on long, late-night walks around campus with friends.

What’s your favorite place on campus, and why?

The basketball court, as it’s the place that has introduced me to a diverse range of people, challenged me and made me realize my true ambitions. Also, it’s really nice looking.

What’s your favorite Turkish food and/or favorite part of Turkish culture?

My favorite Turkish food has to be mantı. It has made me cry tears of joy.

Where do you expect to see yourself 10 years from now?

Breaking into the graphic design industry, hopefully.

What’s the hardest challenge you’ve handled in Turkey?

The language. I felt very accomplished the first time I ordered something without getting multiples of it.

What cities have you visited in Turkey, and which one is your favorite?

Aside from Ankara, I’ve visited Eskişehir. I loved the aura of peace surrounding Eskişehir, and so, I lean more toward it.

Do you have any hidden talents?

Every once in a while, I can crack a good joke.

What’s an interesting question or comment you hear frequently at Bilkent/in Turkey?

People say “afiyet olsun” a lot. I love it.

Describe yourself in three words.

Friendly, accepting, and compassionate.

If you could master any skill, which one would you choose, and why?

I would master the skill of time management to avoid consecutive all-nighters and caffeine-driven mornings.
