What do you like best about Turkey?

The hospitality, the international experience, the kindness of Turkish people, traveling around and enjoying the most beautiful natural landscapes, and the amazing traditional food.

Are there any similarities between Turkey and your home country?

Yes, the language is similar and also the food, especially künefe.

What will you miss most about Bilkent/Turkey?

My friends, ESN members, my professors and the campus.

What’s your favorite place on campus, and why?

Bilka and the lawn area sometimes called “Teletubbies Hill,” where we watch the sunset together and eat pizza.

What’s your favorite Turkish food and/or favorite part of Turkish culture?

Baklava, kebab, künefe and döner durum are the best.

Where do you expect to see yourself 10 years from now?

Traveling the world and coming back to Turkey again for at least a weekend.

What’s the hardest challenge you’ve handled in Turkey?

The language. I’m doing my best to learn it, especially considering that it has many words in common with Arabic. However, the pronunciation is difficult. So, Turkish people sometimes don’t understand what I say.

What cities have you visited in Turkey, and which one is your favorite?

Mersin, Antalya, İstanbul and Eskişehir. Antalya was the best, since I went there with my best friends that I met in the Erasmus exchange program.

What’s an interesting question or comment you hear frequently at Bilkent/in Turkey?

That Bilkent is the safest place, even at night.

Describe yourself in three words.

Brave, adventurer, extroverted.
