Having political conversations with taxi drivers in my broken Turkish.
Are there any similarities between Turkey and your home country?
The tradition of hospitality and the family traditions are very similar. I was really surprised to see that, given the physical distance between the two countries.
What will you miss most about Bilkent/Turkey?
Trashbag snowboarding on Bilka hill.
What’s your favorite Turkish food and/or favorite part of Turkish culture?
Having midye on Friday nights and Saturday mornings.
Where do you expect to see yourself 10 years from now?
Somewhere where my biggest problem is getting sunburned.
What’s the hardest challenge you’ve handled in Turkey?
Waking up at 8:30 and catching the 8:40 bus.
What places have you visited in Turkey, and which one is your favorite?
I’ve been to İstanbul, İzmir, Antalya, Alanya and Eskişehir. As a beach person, if given the choice, I’d live in Alanya all the time.
