What do you like best about Turkey?

Being able to travel around without complications!

Are there any similarities between Turkey and your home country?

Yes! We do have some similar foods, some words are the same as well, and we have a lot of traditions in common.

What will you miss most about Bilkent/Turkey?

I’ll definitely miss the friendships I’ve built here over four years; these friends have become family.

What’s your favorite place on campus, and why?

The lake on East Campus, because we would go there during quarantine when we couldn’t leave campus, and it was basically our road trip.

What’s your favorite Turkish food and/or favorite part of Turkish culture?

Turkish breakfast for sure, especially menemen!

Where do you expect to see yourself 10 years from now?

Hopefully still traveling around discovering more countries and cultures.

What’s the hardest challenge you’ve handled in Turkey?

Definitely the paperwork and all the procedures for kimlik, denklik, etc.

What places have you visited in Turkey, and which one is your favorite?

I’ve been to Afyon, Ankara, Bursa, Denizli (Pamukkale), İzmir, Çeşme, Fethiye, Antalya, Alanya, Bodrum, Konya and İstanbul! My favorite is Fethiye.

What’s an interesting question or comment you hear frequently at Bilkent/ in Turkey?

Well, every time I tell a Turkish person I’m Lebanese, they always tell me how we’re basically the same! As for Bilkent, mainly there’s this idea that we’re snobby.

Describe yourself in three words.

Passionate, curious and energetic.
