What do you like best about Turkey?

Turkish breakfast, hospitable people and İstanbul.

Are there any similarities between your country’s culture and Turkey’s?           

There are many amazing places to see in both countries.

What will you miss most about Turkey/Bilkent? 

Turkish food, being a happy-go-lucky undergraduate and access to an awesome library.

What’s your favorite place on campus, and why?

The Spring Fest area is my favorite because I can lie down there and listen to music when it’s sunny.

Why Turkey?

It was a lucky coincidence.

What’s your favorite Turkish food/favorite part of Turkish culture?

Menemen and mantı.

Where do you expect to see yourself 10 years from now?

Traveling around, learning and working to solve some great problem.

What’s the hardest challenge you’ve overcome in Turkey?

The language barrier; I still haven’t overcome it completely.

What cities have you visited in Turkey? Which one do you like the best?

İstanbul, Amasra, Safranbolu, İzmir, Antalya and Konya. My favorites are İstanbul and Antalya.

Do you have any hidden talents?

I can devour fantasy books in hours.

What’s a question you’re asked frequently, or the most interesting comment you’ve heard at Bilkent/in Turkey?

I get this a lot: “I thought you were from Pakistan,” followed by “Can you teach me Bollywood dance?”
