Lovely and kind people.

Turkey: the food. Bilkent: my friends and professors.

What’s your favorite place on campus, and why?

The dormitories, because that’s where all the crazy things happen.

Why Turkey?

I’ve realized that living and studying in Turkey is a huge privilege for me. With a Korean background, experiencing Turkey’s culture and knowing the language is not something usual; and I believe that this unusualness will be a big advantage for me in the future.

What’s your favorite Turkish food/favorite part of Turkish culture?

Hard question. But the Turkish breakfast is definitely one of my favorite parts of Turkish culture.

Where do you expect to see yourself 10 years from now?

Running around designing people’s houses.

What’s the hardest challenge you’ve overcome in Turkey?

Getting used to the traffic and the way people drive.

What cities have you visited in Turkey? Which one do you like the best?

Many; my favorite is İstanbul, because it’s where I lived for many years.

Do you have any hidden talents?

Performing bass solos.

What’s a question you’re asked frequently, or the most interesting comment you’ve heard at Bilkent/in Turkey?

In Turkey: “Are you Chinese/Japanese?” At Bilkent: “What’s your name again?”
