What do you like best about Turkey?

I love the people here. They’re extremely sweet and welcoming.

Are there any similarities between the cultures?

Yes, we have a lot of traditions in common, related to weddings, food, the importance of family, etc.

What will you miss most about Turkey/Bilkent?

My friends! I love my friends here—they are like family to me.

Where do expect to see yourself in 10 years?

Probably doing something I’m passionate about.

What is your favorite Turkish word?

My favorite Turkish word has to be “alışveriş,” because I love to shop!

The hardest challenge you’ve overcome in Turkey?

The hardest challenge would be communicating, because of the language barrier.

What places have you visited in Turkey? Which one do you like best?

I’ve visited a lot of cities, such as İstanbul, Antalya, Eskişehir, etc., but I love İstanbul the most.

Do you have any hidden talents?

I’m a really good target shooter.

Why Turkey?

Why not? It’s an amazing country with a commendable education system and cultural heritage.

What is one question you are asked frequently or the most interesting comment you’ve heard?

“Do they have cars in Iraq? Or are there just tanks?” That was one I hadn’t heard before 😛
