What do you like best about Turkey?

I really like their songs, and I also admire their diversity.

Are there any similarities between your country’s culture and Turkey’s?

Yeah, both of them are very diverse.

What will you miss most about Turkey/Bilkent?

It’s too early to think of that since I’m in my first year, but I think I’d miss the atmosphere if I had to leave any time soon.

What’s your favorite place on campus, and why?

My favorite place is the hill (the grass area in front of Bilka Café). I love the atmosphere there.

Why Turkey?

Turkey has an amazing culture, which I have always wanted to discover and explore for myself.

What’s your favorite Turkish food/favorite part of Turkish culture?

I’d say my favorite “food” is ayran.

Where do expect to see yourself 10 years from now?

I see myself as a successful researcher.

What’s the hardest challenge you’ve overcome in Turkey?

The hardest challenge has been living alone. And possibly cooking and doing laundry.

What cities have you visited in Turkey? Which one do you like the best?

I’ve visited Antalya, Adana and İstanbul. So far, I like Antalya the best.

Do you have any hidden talents?

Well, if they’re hidden, then I’d rather they stay hidden.

What’s a question you’re asked frequently, or the most interesting comment you’ve heard at Bilkent/in Turkey?

“Omg! If you’re Canadian, what are you doing here?” Please, if we ever meet, spare me the question.
