What do you like best about Turkey?
The Turkish people and their hospitality.
Are there any similarities between Turkey and your home country?
A lot of people speak German here!
What will you miss most about Bilkent/Turkey?
I think I’ll miss the crowded places in the city, which tend never to sleep.
What’s your favorite place on campus, and why?
Sitting beside the fountain in front of A Building, talking with friends and enjoying the view of the city.
What’s your favorite Turkish food and/or favorite part of Turkish culture?
Çiğ köfte! And I like to sit together with friends endlessly and drink çay.
Where do you expect to see yourself 10 years from now?
Probably not in Germany, and hopefully having a job.
What’s the hardest challenge you’ve handled in Turkey?
Figuring out how to navigate the dolmuş routes.
What cities have you visited in Turkey, and which one is your favorite?
I’ve visited İstanbul, Konya and Gaziantep, and they were each incredible in their own way. I especially like their history and architecture.
Do you have any hidden talents?
I think I’m quite good at playing roles in the theater.
What’s an interesting question or comment you hear frequently about Bilkent/Turkey?
Most frequently I hear people call Bilkent a bubble, a bit outside of reality.
Describe yourself in three words.
Loud. Messy. Sensitive.
If you could master any skill, which one would you choose, and why?
Flying, in order to see things from above sometimes.
