The Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design invites all who are interested to a talk by Batu Derer of DererOmay Design and Construction on Monday, February 22 at 3:30 p.m. in room FFB-06.
Mr. Derer is an alumnus of the IAED department, having graduated from Bilkent in 2000; he continued his studies at the European School of Economics and METU. He then worked at several architecture and construction firms until 2005, when he established his own architectural and design firm in collaboration with Emre Omay. The firm’s work has received prizes that include an A’ Design Award and a European Property Award.
In his presentation, Mr. Derer will talk about his experiences as a professional in the field of interior architecture, beginning with the factors that determined his choice of that field. He will also discuss the problems he faced as a young professional and how he coped with them. Finally, he will describe what working conditions are like for interior architects today, and what they may be like tomorrow.
