Bilkent University has just been ranked 76th in the 2017 Times Higher Education (THE) list of the world’s best “young” universities.
The Young University Rankings, previously known as the THE 150 Under 50 Rankings, have now been expanded to include 200 institutions. They are based on the same performance indicators as the overall THE World University Rankings, focusing on teaching, research, citations, international outlook and industry income. However, the methodology is recalibrated such that reputation counts for less, to reflect the situation of universities that have been in existence for less than 50 years.
Bilkent is the third highest-ranked university in Turkey on the list; overall, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (Switzerland) ranked first.
