How often do you exercise?
I usually exercise about five times a week, most often in the Dormitories Sports Hall.
How has regular exercise affected your life?
Before I started to exercise regularly, I weighed around 97 kg. Under the supervision of Coach İlkay, I’ve lost around 17 kg since last September, and now I feel healthier and am more active. I can do activities that I couldn’t before, like rock climbing, hiking and running.
What do you suggest to those who are just taking up a sport or starting to exercise?
I would suggest to beginners that they do sports regularly. They should try hard but not overtrain, and have balanced, nutritious meals that include high-quality protein.They should be patient and determined, because it takes time for the results of exercise to show.
What are the first three things that come to mind when you hear the word “sports”?
Positivity, happiness and pain.
Which Bilkent sports facilities do you use? Have you taken any courses or participated in any activities?
I regularly use the facilities in the Dormitories Sports Hall. I’ve participated in the “Sports as a Way of Life” Fitness Challenge; last semester I came in first.
