Bilkent Cinematics is back for another season of great films, snacks, and discussion! On Thursday, October 12, Cinematics kicks off the new term with Quentin Tarantino’s brilliant “Pulp Fiction” (1994).

Was there a more iconic or influential film of the ’90s? Not likely. Tarantino’s stunningly structured, Oscar-winning movie, set in ’90s Los Angeles, weaves together multiple narratives and introduces us to unforgettable characters like hitmen Vincent Vega (John Travolta) and Jules Winnfield (Samuel L. Jackson). With its sharp, pop culture–laced dialogue and electrifying music from the ’60s and ’70s, Pulp Fiction quickly emerged as one of the most influential movies in modern cinema.

“Here’s a director who’s been let loose inside the toy store,” said critic Roger Ebert, “and wants to play all night.”

Pulp Fiction screens Thursday, October 12 at 6 p.m. in FFB-05. All Cinematics movies are shown with English subtitles, and everyone is welcome. Snacks and beverages are served. For more details, contact Hossein Dabir at dabir@bilkent.edu.tr.
