On April 13, the Department of Tourism and Hotel Management was awarded full accreditation by the Tourism Education Quality Assurance and Accreditation Council (TURAK), a national accrediting body recognized by Turkey’s Higher Education Council. Upon this action, Bilkent became one of the first universities in Turkey whose tourism program has received such accreditation. The accreditation will remain valid for five years.
Institutions with TURAK accreditation pledge their commitment to quality education through continuous improvement in line with the needs of the industry. Areas evaluated during the accreditation process include a program’s academic faculty, its facilities and its relations with the industry, along with the success of its graduates.
