On November 5, the Political Thought Society hosted General İlker Başbuğ (retired), former commander of the Turkish Armed Forces, at Bilkent University. Gen. Başbuğ came to give a lecture on “Turkish Foreign Policy and the Middle East,” in which he discussed past and present situations in the region and Turkey’s policies regarding those situations.
The lecture attracted a large audience of students and faculty members. Following its conclusion, Gen. Başbuğ and other guests had dinner with students and Bilkent Dean of Students Kamer Rodoplu.
