TDP’s Citizens of Hope (UYP) refugee aid project has already conducted a very successful food drive, through which it was able to provide food for 60 families. But as you all know, the weather is getting colder and many refugees lack the basic necessities to keep themselves warm. This is why the project volunteers are starting a new donation campaign, “Keep Us Warm,” to collect donations of clothing and blankets.

Items needed are: blankets, sweaters, socks, trousers, coats, shoes, headwear, scarves, gloves, pajamas and kitchen items.

UYP volunteers will be stationed in front of A Building from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, December 18; they hope to see many generous donors stop by.

A special note to departing exchange students: If you think you will be leaving things behind so as not to incur excess baggage charges, why not donate your items instead? They will be put to good use helping to keep Ankara’s refugees warm.
