As part of this year’s Library Week activities, the Bilkent Library and the Bilkent Humor and Culture Club are holding a contest for Bilkenters: Write & Draw Bilkent.
The theme of the contest is “Life at Bilkent,” and entries related to this theme may be submitted in any of three categories: poems, cartoons and essays. Entries may be written in either Turkish or English; extra points will be given for humorous works.
The contest is currently underway; the deadline for submitting entries is 5 p.m. on April 7.
Following judging of the entries, the top three contestants in each category will receive prizes at an award ceremony (place, time and date to be announced).
– Entries may be submitted either as hard copy by filling out the entry form available in the Reference Department of the Library, or online. Online entries should be sent to libcompetition@bilkent.edu.tr via a Bilkent e-mail account. Contestants who complete the entry form are deemed to have accepted all contest rules.
– Poems and essays submitted online should be in Word or PDF format. Cartoons should be in JPG or JPEG format with 300DPI resolution.
– Any poem, cartoon or essay that has received a prize in another competition is not eligible for entry.
– Each contestant must declare that he/she has created and owns the work/s being submitted.
– Legal liability for any copyright infringement belongs entirely to the contestant.
– Officers of the Bilkent Humor and Culture Club and members of the jury for Write & Draw Bilkent may not enter the contest.
– The Bilkent Library and Bilkent Humor and Culture Club may use a submitted work either in print or in the digital environment provided the name of the contestant is indicated, but may not use any such work for commercial purposes. No royalty payments will be made to contestants. The works judged to be the three best in each of the three categories will be published in the Bilkent Humor and Culture Club’s magazine, Bilkent TOSBAA.
