Bilkent Search and Rescue First Aid Association (BILAID)
Bilkent Search and Rescue First Aid Association (BILAID) has been composed of volunteer students with passion and energy since 2005.
The main purpose of BILAID is to develop students in terms of psychology and consciousness of natural disasters and their human impact, to support helpless people, and to be prepared in the case of emergency.
BILAID lets its volunteer students to be educated in basic subjects such as basic disaster awareness, first aid, etc. and gives them a chance to help deprived people with broad campaigns and passionate discussion sessions about many subjects related to helping others.
BILAID has a vision of society responsiveness and is ready to triumph over difficult times with empathy and hand in hand assistance.
Here are some past works of BILAID;
- 2005 Pakistan Earthquake Aid Campaign
- 2005 H5N1 Bird Flu Virus Precaution Campaign (with Bilkent University Health Center)
- 2006 Training for IDF Bilkent Primary School in Basic Disaster Awareness
- 2006 Training for BUPS in Basic Disaster Awareness
- 2006 Backcountry Rescue (with AKUT)
If you think you are so alive that you cannot remain unresponsive to the pain suffered in the world, if you think you need a skill that only requires you to be a human being, if you think in the face of big disasters you want to be the one who is there searching for a solution instead of the one who waits for a solution, you are more than welcome to be a BILAIDer.

BILAID will announce a fund-raising campaign this week to aid earthquake-and tsunami-ravaged Japan.
Conscious Bilkent Community
Conscious Bilkent Community seeks to help each member of the Bilkent University to be more conscious about nature, his or her health, and education in the era of globalization.
Because Conscious Bilkent Community is a new club at Bilkent, they have no activities so far. Yet, they will organize conferences, trips, and conversations in order to help society to be more responsive and thoughtful. They want to inform what students need to know, and to do, in order to mentor themselves become more aware of the interconnectedness of global society.
