Republic Cup Mini-Field Football Tournament a Huge Success
The final and third-place matches of the 2011 fall semester intramural mini-field (halı saha) football tournament were played during the week of December 19. In the hard-fought final match between the teams 300 Tomarzalı and Emekli Fırtına, 300 Tomarzalı came out on top, winning this semester's Republic Cup in the sport. Anadolu Sk won its match against E Blok to take third-place honors.
During the season, 41 teams, whose members included approximately 450 students and academic staff members, participated in the tournament. The tournament's format resulted in some teams being eliminated after three matches, while the remainder had the chance to play on and advance to the top. Thanks to all participants, and congratulations to the Cup winners as well as the runner-up teams:
