GRA Grad's Animated Short Screened at Film Festivals in Turkey and Greece

“Frame" (Çerçeve), an animated film directed by Aycan Başar, a Bilkent Department of Graphic Design graduate, was screened at the Akbank 8th Short Film Festival, held between March 19 and 29.
Ms. Başar began producing "Frame," her first animated short film, as her graduation project while she was studying at Bilkent. The film was also selected as a finalist and shown at the 2nd Be There! Corfu Animation Festival, the 23rd Ankara International Film Festival and the 7th Athens Animfest.

Frame tells the story of an old man who carries his wife's framed picture around with him and talks to it as if it were really his wife. As the film begins, the man is seen standing on a dark street before entering Joe's Jazz Bar. An aura of mystery pervades the scene, encompassing the attitude of the barman toward the old man as well as the latter's relationship with his framed picture, and culminates with the entrance of Azrael, before slowly dissolving. The film's theme centers on crime and punishment. The film can be seen at www.aycanbasar.com.
