New Exhibition Opens at the Library Art Gallery

The Library Art Gallery is hosting an exhibition of paintings by Müşerref Köktürk. The exhibition opened on Thursday, November 17, in the Library Art Gallery.

Ms. Köktürk (born in 1928) was noticed and encouraged by the prominent Turkish artist Eşref Üren. In the late 1960s she studied in Paris, and in 1971 worked as a representative of the Turkish art magazine Ankara Sanat.

Her awards and accomplishments have included receiving the Turkish Radio-Television Art Prize, as well as taking part in the Exhibition of Contemporary Turkish Painting in Aix-en-Provence (France). In 1972, her paintings were sent by the Ministry of Culture to the 4th International Painting Festival in Gagnes-sur-Mer (France). In 1979 she won the Turkish Language Institution's award for her book "From Palette to Pen."

The exhibit will run until December 7 and will be open every day (except Sundays) between 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.
