UNICEF Fair Raises Funds for Children
On December 4-7, the UNICEF Volunteers Committee held a fair in Dormitory 69 to raise funds for UNICEF. Committee members were gratified by the community's response to the event, with the participation of everyone involved helping to make this year's sale a resounding success.
Volunteers not only sold donations -- lightly used and new clothing, electrical appliances and decorative items -- but also prepared and provided for sale a variety of other items, from cookies, honey, jam and cakes to jewelry, magazines and books. Their efforts were rewarded by the great interest the sale attracted. Smiles shone from many faces, as everyone realized that the proceeds would go to make a difference in the lives of children they had never met.
