Bakery Club Contest Chooses "Best Cake on Campus"
It's tough work, but someone's got to do it! On February 27, two juries had the difficult but very enjoyable task of tasting 12 cakes to choose the best one and award the winning baker the title of "BilChef." The competition was organized by the Bakery Club, giving entrants a chance to have their cake selected as the most delicious on campus.
One jury consisted of students; members of the other jury were Rector Abdullah Atalar, Bahar Yetiş Kara (Assoc. Prof./IE), Elif Denizci (Instructor/THM and Chef at Le Piment Rouge), Ali Açıkgül (Chef, Divan Hotels) and Fatih Battal (Kyma Restaurant).
Everyone agreed that each of the 12 cakes was tastier than the other. After the points were totaled at the end of the contest, the three highest scorers won surprise gifts and received certificates of achievement. The rest of the contestents didn't leave empty-handed, either -- they were given coffee/cake coupons from Mozart Cafe as well as certificates of participation.
