Personal Development Days Points Add Up for Bilkent Students
Earlier this semester, many Bilkent students attended the Career Center's "Personal Development Days," which offered a series of seminars by speakers who have achieved success and recognition in a variety of fields. Besides picking up real-life hints and practical information regarding future career choices, students received an added benefit: by collecting points for each activity attended, they gained the opportunity to go on one of two cultural field trips organized by the Career Center.
On Friday, April 5, Career Center staff members and students who had earned enough points traveled to Gaziantep to see the Zeugma Mosaic Museum. The next morning, after a breakfast including the traditional local specialty "katmer," the group visited the museum and viewed magnificent works of art dating back as far as 2,200 years ago. In the afternoon the group went on a city tour accompanied by a local guide, before returning to Bilkent that night.
Another group of students had the opportunity to see Nikolai Gogol's play "Diary of a Madman" at the Ankara State Theater on Tuesday, April 9. The performance featured Erdal Beşikçioğlu, one of the theater's best-known actors.
Following these two excursions, Career Center staff expressed their satisfaction at having had the opportunity to organize such enriching cultural experiences for students.
