Interested in Artificial Intelligence?
|
Research in Artificial Intelligence (AI), viewed from a purely engineering perspective, simply attempts to produce better and better machines. The field boasts a number of very powerful techniques that are being used to solve difficult real world problems. At the same time, however, the question arises as to just how far these developments can go. Could we construct machines that rival human beings in terms of intelligence? Although it may not be possible today, is it at least a theoretical possibility? If it is possible, would such machines have feelings, emotions, minds?
The Bilkent ACM Special Interest Group on Artificial Intelligence is a loose-knit group of faculty, graduate and undergraduate students interested in both the engineering and philosophical aspects of AI. Our weekly meetings are open to everyone and provide an informal meeting place for discussion of AI related topics. You don't need to be an expert to join in.
The first meeting is Tuesday, September 22, at 5:40 p.m. in room A502 of the Engineering Building.
