AMER Professor Awarded Rockefeller Grant

Dr. Dennis Bryson, assistant professor in the Department of American Culture and Literature, has been awarded a Rockefeller Archive Grant for research in the history of philanthropy and social sciences in the United States. Dr. Bryson, author of “Socializing the Young: The Role of Foundations, 1923-1941” (2002), will use the grant to do research this summer at the Rockefeller Archive in New York.

Student Council “Culture and Art Fest” a Great Success

The Bilkent University Student Council Culture and Art Fest was held on March 18 and 19. The activities consisted of a vast book fair, in which 17 publishing firms presented their products at discounted prices, a photograph and an oil painting exposition, all presented at the Main Campus Sports Hall with background music provided by Radio Bilkent.
On March 18, two conferences were held featuring Ayla Kutlu and Cezmi Ersöz. The first day of the Festival ended with the a performance of "Kiss of the Spider Woman" by the Bilkent University Drama Club.

Bilkent Judges Battle Gazi Warriors in the First Game of the Season

The fourth time that the Bilkent Judges have faced the Gazi Warriors in four years, ended with the victory going to Gazi for the first time. The final score was 22-14.
The Judges were considered as the favorites and started well, even scoring first with an early touchdown (6-0) in the first quarter and signaled a possible victory against the Gazi Warriors. Halfway through the 2nd quarter things for the Bilkent Judges started to change due to their offensive and defensive mistakes.
