Bilkent Students Celebrate New Semester at Prof. İhsan Doğramacı’s Residence

This past Saturday, October 1, Bilkent students and faculty members gathered at the residence of Prof. İhsan Doğramacı, founder of Bilkent University and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, for an outdoor reception. Prof. Doğramacı and Ms. Ayser Doğramacı hosted the event to celebrate the beginning of the university's 2005 fall semester.

Prof. Doğramacı made a short welcoming speech to the guests. During the reception, students also had the opportunity to speak with Prof. Doğramacı on an individual basis about their own educational interests and goals, as well as about Bilkent, the academic world and other topics.

The event, which began at 11 a.m. and lasted until 2 p.m., included a barbecue lunch as well as an informal jazz concert by faculty member Janusz Szprot and vocalist Sibel Köse. A beautiful early fall day, which seemed left over from summer, added to everyone's enjoyment.

Note: Photographs taken at the reception can be found at http://139.179.91.3/garden/ through October 17.
