Special Luncheon Held by Housing Office Management
On Wednesday, April 1, the 11th Fikir Sofrası lunch event for secretaries, organized by the Housing Office Management, was held. Along with the honory guests, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees and President of the University, Prof. İhsan Doğramacı, Rector Prof. Ali Doğramacı, Vice-Rector Prof. Kürşat Aydoğan, Prof. Erol Arkun and Prof. Ümit Berkman were in attendance. Sema Oba, Manager of the Personnel Office and 40 secretaries were treated to a lovely mean and a warm, enjoyable atmosphere.
The Housing Office has pioneered a number of projects, including Fikir Sofrası, an event designed to bring personnel together in a more casual, relaxed setting to help build relationships, communication, morale and the Bilkent spirit.
Kosovo Educators Visit IDF Bilkent Primary School
A group of 30 educators from Kosovo visited the İhsan Doğramacı Foundation Bilkent Primary School between March 23 and 27.
Throughout the week, the secondary and elementary school teachers and principals from Mamuşa, Kosovo observed classes, attended seminars and visited main attractions such as the Anatolian Civilizations Museum and Anıtkabir. They were also invited by Prof. Dr. İhsan Doğramacı to his residence for five o'clock tea where they discussed Turkish medium education in Kosovo. As well, they had the opportunity to meet with local managers in education to explore topics such as the current challenges in their education systems and the desire to set up a strong bridge between the two countries to improve quality of education.
As a host school, the İhsan Doğramacı Foundation Bilkent Primary School introduced the visiting educators to the Turkish training system, culture, and the warm hospitality of the people.
