The Secret Lives of Henry and Alice at Bilkent

The Secret Lives of Henry and Alice, a play written by David Tristram, was adapted for the Turkish stage by students from the Department of Theater. Second year student, Musa Arslanali directed the play, which opened in the first week of January at Mavi Sahne and is still running. This is Arslanali's directorial debut. Also fourth year student from the Department of Graphic Design, Negrican Birlik, designed the poster advertising the play.

Preparation for staging took five months. The original text of the play is in English. The copyright for the play is held by Samuel French, Ltd, London. Students negotiated for the rights to translate the play into Turkish. Negrican Birlik and Musa Arslanali prepared the translation. The cast of the play are members of the Ankara Art Theatre (AST).

The Secret Lives of Henry and Alice is a marital comedy that explores the fantasy lives of a long-married couple and their pet fish, Orca. The play will be performed on March 17 and 18 at 8 p.m., FMPA Theatre Hall.
