Bilkent Hosts the 2nd Division Intermural Volleyball Group Championship
During the week of February 22 to 26, 2011, Bilkent hosted the annual inter-university volleyball championship for the Second Division. Bilkent teams (both men and women) took first place in their respective groups and moved up to the First Division. Congratulations to both members of the teams and their coaches Sarp Baturalp and Ömer Mihalıcçık.
According to Merve Abiş, captain of women’s team and Oğuzhan Denizli, captain of men’s team: "What made us champions is the most significant part of this victory. Becoming real friends with our teammates motivated us to build up a Bilkent spirit. We, as the team members, have devoted our leisure time for this activity not just to play volleyball but to spend time together with the people who we stand shoulder to shoulder with. Besides having fun while playing, we really wanted to see the results of our effort and become a real team. In addition to unforgettable memories, the relationships with friends are something that we will always benefit from. When we graduate and in our professional lives we will be required to work in teams and never fail because we are used to collaborating with the people we previously did not know. For this we thank Bilkent."
