On Monday, February 28, clinicians at he Main Campus Health Center used a device to measure CO (carbon monoxide) levels in the lungs of smokers. This test will continue to be offered during March on every Monday. Interest was pretty high among students. A questionnaire was given while measurement took place. The events are organized by Main Campus Quit Smoking Clinic, which consists of Neurologist Dr. Kamuran Kuş, Specialist Nurse Yüksel Dur, and Specialist Ayşe Bulut Degtyarev. This committee is trying to raise awareness of the danger of smoking, especially among the young generation. They want to show what they are doing to their lungs by smoking. In East Campus Health Center, students and personnel can ask Dr. Başak Soyluoğlu for help in quitting smoking.

At the Main Campus Health Center, the head of the Quit Smoking Clinic, Dr. Kamuran Kuş says that quitting smoking is difficult, but there are many ways to help people who want to quit. “I suggest smokers to go to one of the health centers to get help giving up cigarettes.”
