A special four-session cooking course, organized by UNICEF volunteers and supported by the Bilkent University Department of Tourism and Hotel Management, is taking place this spring. The courses, which began on April 1, will continue until May 6. International and Turkish chefs from well-known Ankara restaurants and the Bilkent Department of Tourism and Hotel Management are conducting the classes, which take place at the facilities of Le Piment Rouge restaurant. The classes focus on international cuisines: Italian, Chinese, African and Ottoman. Most of the 25 trainees taking the course are Bilkent University students.
On April 1 the trainees cooked Italian specialties as part of this UNICEF fundraising event. Under the supervision of chef Fabio Foltran, they enjoyed the day while learning how to prepare Italian dishes.
Last Sunday, April 15, the Chinese cuisine workshop was held, with chefs from Quick China as instructors. Money raised during these events will be used for various educational activities run by UNICEF Turkey.
