Turkish Physical Society Gives Award to Ömer İlday
Asst. Prof Ömer İlday of the Department of Physics has received the Turkish Physical Society's "Prof. Dr. Engin Arık Scientist Award" for 2012. This award is given each year to a physicist with an outstanding educational and research record.
Dr. İlday received a BS degree in theoretical physics from Boğaziçi University in 1998. After completing a PhD in applied physics at Cornell University in 2003, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2003 to 2005. His studies at MIT were supported by a Research Laboratory of Electronics Fellowship during his first year. In 2005, he was named a Research Scientist at MIT.
Dr. İlday is also the recipient of the 2011 TÜBİTAK Incentive Award in the field of basic sciences.
